Internet attacks of distributed denial of service, or DDoS, are unfortunately too common nowadays. These attacks seek to make a machine or network resource unavailable to its intended users by temporarily or indefinitely disrupting services of a host connected to the Internet. On June 18, 2019, the Montreal (Quebec) based video game company Ubisoft was the victim of a massive DDoS attack<\/a> preventing online gaming for over one hour. Early that month, the secured instant messaging service Telegram was hit<\/a> by a major DDoS attack affecting over 200 million users from communicating during more than 17 hours.<\/p>\n Victims of DDoS attacks are not confined to large organizations. Computer hackers do not discriminate as of the size of their targets.
