IP4B announces the full integration of its VoIP network with Microsoft Teams providing secure, private, and redundant world-class telephony service

Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex are great productivity platforms enabling Canadian organizations to deploy remote and hybrid work scenarios and collaborate with colleagues and external resources.

However, while Cisco provides a rich and robust telephony platform, thanks on the one hand to IP4B’s VoIP platform, Microsoft Teams has yet to provide a clear alternative. The announcement by IP4B of the full integration of its VoIP platform with Microsoft Teams now provides a secure, private, and redundant world-class telephony service for business customers.

For over 30 years, IP4B has been developing its expertise in IP telephony. Today, IP4B delivers a world-class network. Its network is secured by carrier-grade session border controllers (SBCs). It provides redundancy by relying, among others, on Canada’s largest SIP network. IP4B transports its SIP network on private internet links to ensure the expected quality of service (QoS). And in the unlikely advent of an internet outage, IP4B offers redundant LTE connectivity. These factors are the cornerstone of a world-class SIP network. To our knowledge, IP4B is the first or among the first providers in Canada to offer this level of service.

The integration of IP4B and Microsoft Teams is thus truly transformational for Canadian businesses of all sizes: the familiarity of Microsoft Teams with the robustness and local presence of IP4B.

Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex are often designated as Unified Communications platforms. They can only be truly “unified” if they offer access to Public Switched Telephony Network (PSTN). Full integration with Microsoft Teams is a game-changer in telephony services. With the combined expertise and capabilities of both platforms, clients now have access to a telephony experience that is truly world-class. As avid supporters of innovation, we at IP4B do not doubt that this announcement of full integration with Microsoft Teams is just a first step in embracing full Unified Communications clients’ interoperability.
